  1. CARBON FOOTPRINT: VOLVO – RUSTENBURG AND NORTH WEST LAND SERVICE UNITE.
On Friday the 14th of May two very different organizations pledge a greener future together for Rustenburg and the greater Bonjanala District. VOLVO - Rustenburg and the North West Land Service came together for the very first time in an effort to lessen their carbon footprint.
Volvo - Rustenburg decided earlier this year to plant trees for every car sold part as their greening strategy and to lessen their carbon footprint on the environment. They soon realized that many clients didn’t have the space for these prospected trees. With this in mind they decided to help the North West Land Service which already had an ongoing project where they do plant trees in open spaces throughout Rustenburg.
North West Land Service with their ongoing ROR (Red Ons Riviere) project planted some of these trees within the park at Geelhoutpark before cleaning the park. This project has been running since last year, and is assisted by the municipality of Rustenburg. In Future, North West Land Service wish to attract more role players in its efforts against this ever present unseen phenomenon named global warming.
During this event VOLVO – Rustenburg handed out pamphlets to the kids of Dawid Brink, Laerskool Rustenburg, Laerskool Proteapark, Kloofview Primary, High school Grenswag, High School Bergsig, Technical High on this important phenomenon and there strategy to make a change to the environment.
Starting with the leaders of tomorrow there will be a greener future if more companies take their carbon footprint as serious as VOLVO.
